Two Year Anniversary in Naaburg

The first thing we got to do when we arrived here in Germany was go to a medieval festival in Naaburg and we were wide-eyed and amazed of course. This particular festival only happens every 2 years and so this was the year we were able to go back - on the weekend after Jenn and Bronwyn left. It would have been fun to take them. We went early this year to beat the crowds and the heat and had a good time wandering the shops and watching the performers.

The washer women actually had a dancing performance but they were also doing real wash - or at least it gave them an excuse to fling water into the crowds. Which honestly was quite nice!

This performer is the same guy - pretty multi-talented!
This really does mark our second year in Germany!  Technically, we only have one year left!  I'd be in full on panic mode right now except that Chopper's paperwork for extension has pretty much been approved - it just needs signatures. So in other words, I shouldn't count my chickens before they're hatched!  But we are definitely keeping our fingers crossed that it's granted and we'll have 3 more years here instead of just 1. There's too much still to do and see!  Although that being said, if for some reason we had to leave even now, I would count our time here as a wonderful blessing.
